About

I am an Assistant Professor at the CS Department of UT Austin, co-directing the UT Data Systems lab.

I earned my Ph.D. degree from the CS Department of UChicago, advised by Prof. Aaron Elmore. I also worked closely with Prof. Sanjay Krishnan and Prof. Michael Franklin at UChicago. Before joining UT Austin, I was a postdoc scholar at UC Berkeley working with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran.

I am passionate about building data systems and conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersections of databases with distributed systems, storage systems, machine learning, and programming languages. My current research focuses on building efficient and scalable data systems for modern hardware and applications. My research projects can be found on this page.

I am seeking self-motivated Ph.D. students for Fall'25. Please check out this page for PhD hiring information and feel free to reach out if you are interested. For undergraduates or master's students who are interested in working with me, please fill in this form.
