About
I am an Assistant Professor at the CS Department of UT Austin. I earned my Ph.D. degree from the CS Department of UChicago, advised by Prof. Aaron Elmore. At UChicago, I also worked closely with Prof. Sanjay Krishnan and Prof. Michael Franklin. I was a postdoc scholar at UC Berkeley working with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran before joining UT Austin.
I am passionate about building systems for data-intensive applications and conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersections of databases with distributed systems, programming languages, and machine learning. My current research focuses on cloud databases over modern hardware, optimizing data-intensive applications through program synthesis and verification, and large-scale multi-modal data analysis. My research projects can be found on this page.
I am seeking self-motivated Ph.D. students for Fall'25. Please check out this page for PhD hiring information and feel free to reach out if you are interested. For undergraduates or master's students who are interested in working with me, please fill in this form.
