About

I am an Assistant Professor at the CS Department of UT Austin. Before joining UT Austin, I was a postdoc scholar at UC Berkeley working with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran. I earned my Ph.D. degree from the CS Department of UChicago, advised by Prof. Aaron Elmore. At UChicago, I'm also fortunate to work with Prof. Sanjay Krishnan and Prof. Michael Franklin.

I am passionate about building systems for data-intensive applications and conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersections of databases with distributed systems, programming languages, and machine learning. My current research focuses on cloud databases over modern hardware, optimizing data-intensive applications through program synthesis and verification, and large-scale data analysis over multi-modal data. My research projects can be found on this page.

I am actively seeking Ph.D. students. Please check out this page for PhD hiring and feel free to reach out if you are interested in my research. For undergraduates or master's students who are interested in working with me, please fill in this form.
