About
I am an Assistant Professor at the CS Department of UT Austin. I earned my Ph.D. degree from the CS Department of UChicago, advised by Prof. Aaron Elmore. At UChicago, I also worked closely with Prof. Sanjay Krishnan and Prof. Michael Franklin. I was a postdoc scholar at UC Berkeley working with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran before joining UT Austin.
I am passionate about building data systems and conducting interdisciplinary research at the intersections of databases with distributed systems, storage systems, machine learning, and programming languages. My current research focuses on building novel data systems for modern hardware and applications. I also work on optimizing data-intensive applications through program synthesis and verification. My research projects can be found on this page.
I am seeking self-motivated Ph.D. students for Fall'25. Please check out this page for PhD hiring information and feel free to reach out if you are interested. For undergraduates or master's students who are interested in working with me, please fill in this form.
